Contact & Profiles

I'd love to know why Trengo works with separate contacts and profiles. Isn't it more convenient and clear to merge those two into just contacts? Just like the Contacts on my iPhone or Macbook, a contact can contain different contact options like: Phone, Socials, E-mail, Adress, etc.

  • A contact is seen as one person via one channel and a profile is multi-channel. As we have a lot of different types of organisation using our tool, c2c organisations have Profile consisting of one single person, however B2B organisations have Business profiles in which they can include all different contact persons and channels from one organisation.

Besides working with histories and multiple channels from one inbox, having seperate contacts with their own channel, gives organisations easy access to certain parts of our API to build and connect their own tools.

  • Hi Tamara, I don't find it easy to switch contacts from one profile to another.  Is it possible to simplify this proces in Trengo ?

B2B Tax Advisors G. Segers I'm with you. Especially for a high-volume support team. It's time-consuming to find and associate contacts to profiles. Ideally, Trengo would auto-suggest the closest matches to speed this process up.
